The Municipality of Anchorage received complaints of dust from drywall removal work being done in the 15-unit apartment building at the above referenced Site.  Drywall repairs were needed in response to extensive water damage.  One tenant hired a consultant to sample the dust for asbestos and it came back positive. The MOA then hired a consultant (EHS, Eagle River) to also collect samples which came back positive.  Asbestos containing materials were reported to be scattered outside the property.  Given the potential asbestos exposure to the public, with a school located across from the Site, EPA and START mobilized to conduct air monitoring.
