On 5/11/23, OSCs responded to a train derailment at a bridge crossing the Mahoning River. The train consisted of 3 locomotives and 213 railcars. Nine of the railcars were derailed. Two railcars discharged barium sulfate and soybean meal to the river. A third railcar was an elevated temperature railcar containing UN3257 paraffin wax (heavy vacuum gas oil) derailed but remained on the bridge above the river. The other 6 derailed railcars were empty or contained canned vegetables.
