On 9/30/19 a tanker truck rollover caused the discharge of asphalt emulsion and possibly diesel fuel to an unnamed tributary of Alpine Creek near La Honda, in San Mateo County CA. The discharge reached the flowing Alpine Creek which flows into San Gregorio creek which in turn flows to the Pacific Ocean. Alpine Creek serves as a public water supply and is habitat to the California Red-legged frog and to a known population of Central California Coast Steelhead trout.
Region 9 OSC's Rogow, Johnstone and Fitzgerald mobilized on 10/1 and integrated into Unified Command with CA Fish and Wildlife and the responsible party to oversee the response.
