Update 7/25/22

Over the weekend, EPA continued to provide air monitoring at the scene and in the surrounding community. Results didn’t show exceedances for volatile organic compounds, or VOCs, particulates or other chemicals of concern. Based on the data, this morning, EPA stopped air monitoring in residential areas and provided limited air monitoring for particulate at the scene.

As of this afternoon, based on air monitoring results at the scene, EPA transitioned all monitoring to the state and local responders and is no longer on-site.

Under the documents section, EPA has posted air monitoring summaries that address particulates collected in real-time by EPA instrumentation. The summaries do not include VOCs or other chemicals of concern.

Background
On July 19, 2022, at approximately 4:40 a.m., a commercial structural fire broke out at a farming supply company containing agricultural products and ingredients.  A shelter-in-place advisory was issued by local officials for surrounding communities. Multiple agencies responded, and at 1 p.m., state and local officials made a request to U.S. EPA to provide air monitoring assistance. EPA arrived on-scene around 4 p.m. and established mobile and stationary air monitoring locations.
