EPA continues to provide 24-hour security and coordinate the activities of PRP generators who supplied Remacor, Inc. with secondary magnesium scrap including turnings, shavings, chips and other finely divided cuttings. In all, 29 generators have been identified and issued 104e letters. Several of the companies are in the process of voluntarily removing their materials from the Site under the oversight of EPA and PADEP who control access to the Site. The 45-acre property contains thousands of drums, sacks, boxes and other containers of this flammable solid, many of which are in poor storage conditions. Some generators are subcontracting former Remacor, Inc. employees to assist them with identifying, moving, re-packaging, and loading their materials for transportation to other facilities for proper storage, recycling, or disposal.
Other recent site activities have centered around the discovery, assessment, and overpacking of an old drum containing water reactive sodium metal. An inventory is currently being conducted on site

Meridian's subcontractor, URS, unloaded a truck of approximately 330 empty 55 gallon drums to be used during repackaging of product. The morning safety meeting was held at 0930 after the truck was emptied and departed the site.
PADEP (Holler, Hoffman, and Morettini) arrived on site to continue familiarization and transition of job duties to Hoffman and Morettini.
OSCs (Downie, Easton), PADEP (Holler, Hoffman, and Morettini), START, and Heritage Environmental Services (Conley) on behalf of Pratt & Whitney Canada. Pratt & Whitney Canada (a generator) is interested in removing their product from the site. They may be using Heritage Environmental Services to overpack and remove the drums associated with their product. OSCs and PADEP informed Heritage's representative of the Work Plan/Health and Safety Plan that would have to be in place before any work could begin.
START personnel continued to inventory the magnesium materials and other waste materials on site.
Meridian anticipates to begin loading of materials from super sacks to 55 gallon drums.
Meridian anticipates the removal of one truck of product during the week of 3/5/07.
A truck load of gravel is scheduled to be brought to site on 3/02/07 and will be used to maintain the roads during heavy traffic to and from the site buildings.
The OSC anticipates Pratt Whitney representatives will meet with him on 3/02/07 to discuss removal of their material from the site.
