EPA is continuing emergency removal actions at this site during the repackaging, transportation, and removal of flammable magnesium materials. Magnesium generators, who previously supplied Remacor with recyclable magnesium and magnesium alloys, are removing their materials from the site. SPX Contech, from Portage, MI, has been on site to identify and re-stage their product. Winters Performance Products, Inc. is currently making plans to start repackaging and shipping its product off site. MJ Metals of Bridgeport, CT, is coordinating with the EPA to be on site for drum identification and count. Niapro, a magnesium scrap broker and recycler, is working with generators and coordinating with EPA to move materials off site. To date 14 generators have removed, or are in various stages of planning in order to remove, their drums off site. No further breeches of the site have been noted since State Police did a follow-up investigation and extra security measure were taken. EPA and PADEP officials continue to control access to site in addition to coordinating the activities of the various generators.

START mobilized to the Site and met with New Castle Lock and Key personnel who adjusted three security sensors in Building 9 and tested their sensitivity before departing.
PADEP Hoffman mobilized to site to assist in oversight. PADEP Hoffman and START conducted a site walk through and security check. PADEP Hoffman demobilized.
START conducted written and photographic documentation, assisted the OSC as needed, and monitored activities conducted on site.

PADEP (Hoffman) and START arrived on site. PADEP provided START with air sampling data for radionuclides. PADEP continued to conduct air sampling at the Site.

EPA (Messimer) mobilized to the Site. ERRS mobilized to the Site arriving mid-late in the afternoon and began setup for upcoming activities.
START accompanied two tree service company persons to the west side of the Site in order to observe trees near the power lines in relation to bid solicitation by Penn Power. After observing the power lines, the personnel departed.
START provided oversight and general technical support throughout the day.

ERRS (GES) mended a hole in the perimeter fence and prepared for removal of drummed oil from the Site. ERRS removed 1,350 gallons of oil, staged near building 8, via transporter Environmental Specialists, Inc., Toledo, OH. Another cache of oil drums was assessed and moved from the truck scale area to Building 8.
EPA Messimer arrived on Site and provided oversight throughout the day, then departed.
American Iron & Metal (AIM) provided EPA with a tentative schedule for removal of Pratt & Whitney Canada magnesium turnings. The plan estimates two trucks per week to be removed each Friday during the next nine weeks.
Pratt & Whitney Canada sub-subcontractor MHF-LS arrived on Site and staged 26 pallets (8-drums per pallet) near the Building 8 dock in preparation for transportation off Site.

ERRS demobilized from the Site.
EPA Messimer arrived on Site and conducted oversight of activities.
MHF-LS arrived on Site and loaded one truck (Pleasant Trucking, Inc.) with 13 pallets (104 drums) of Pratt & Whitney magnesium turnings for transport to MagPro, Camden, TN.
PADEP Morettini arrived on Site to provide oversight and assist with coordination of activities.
START assisted as needed, conducted written and photographic documentation, and monitored activities conducted on site.
All personnel demobilized for the weekend. 24-hour security continued at the Site.
AIM estimates that two trucks per week will be removed each Friday during the next nine weeks.
MJ Metals (generator) will make arrangements to be on site for identification of their drums. MJ Metals will conduct this search along with the former Plant Manager of Remacor. This will be done because of discrepancy in drum count on site.
EPA will continue to coordinate with magnesium waste generators for the safe and appropriate removal of the material from the site. EPA will continue to coordinate with all local, state, and federal agencies.
