Site Description
EPA is continuing emergency removal actions at this site during the repackaging, transportation, and removal of flammable magnesium materials.  Magnesium generators, who previously supplied Remacor with recyclable magnesium and magnesium alloys, are removing their materials from the site.  Monitoring Wells have been installed to aide in accessing extent of contamination on site.  Winters Performance Products, Inc. is currently repackaging and making preparations to ship its product off site.  MJ Metals of Bridgeport, CT, is coordinating with the EPA to be on site for drum identification and count.  To date 16 generators have removed, or are in various stages of planning in order to remove, their drums off site.  EPA and PADEP officials continue to control access to site in addition to coordinating the activities of the various generators.

American Iron & Metals (AIM) due to the subsequent fire Magpro, Camden, TN will use  Von Roll America, Inc., Liverpool, OH as its consignee for its product.  Von Roll is not a recycler so the product will leave site as a hazardous waste instead of a recyclable material.  Von Roll will also be the transporter for the material and use MHF Logistic Solutions, Cranberry Township, PA to load the trucks.  Von Roll loaded 12 drums of magnesium to ship to its incinerator as a trial run to confirm that all material shipped by AIM could be incinerated safely. The load consisted of 1 pallet@8 drums/pallet and 1 pallet@4 dums/pallet with an estimated weight of 4,000 pounds.
