Site Description
EPA is continuing emergency removal actions at this site during the repackaging, transportation, and removal of flammable magnesium materials.  Lavigne Manufacturing Inc is making plans to remove its material off site.  The EPA is making plans to repackage material to make it stable and accessible for the remainder of the generators who wish to remove their material.      

ERRS is repackaging the remainder of drums on site. PADEP is providing technical and oversight support at the site.  EPA START contractor TechLaw is providing technical and administrative support to the EPA.  EPA and PADEP officials continue to control access to the site in addition to coordinating the activities of the various generators.

Emergency and Rapid Response Services (ERRS) contractor Guardian Environmental, Inc held its morning safety meeting and discussed the days planned activities. ERRS moved empty 55- gallon drums from Building #2 to Building #8 to make room for repackaged drums in Building #2.  ERRS staged and punched drums to begin repackaging on 8/4/08. ERRS did weekly maintenance on all their equipment and did cleaning of work areas.  

START assisted as needed and conducted written/photographic documentation. START demobilized.    

08/04/08
Emergency and Rapid Response Services (ERRS) contractor Guardian Environmental, Inc held its morning safety meeting and discussed the days planned activities. ERRS resumed repackaging drums of magnesium. ERRS repacked 87 drums for the day.
  
START mobilized to site, assisted the EPA as needed and conducted written/photographic documentation.



Next Steps
Lavigne Manufacturing is making plans to remove its material off site.

EPA will continue to coordinate with magnesium waste generators for the safe and appropriate removal of the material from the site.  EPA will continue to coordinate with all local, state, and federal agencies.
