On June 13, 2020, EPA Region 1 was notified of a fire at an abandoned mill complex on Canal Street in Shelton, Connecticut. Fire-fighting efforts were on-going. Preliminary reports indicated that as a result of the fire, a portion of the mill collapsed into the Housatonic River.
