In June 2016, EPA created the White River sub-area for area planning purposes under its authorities in the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPA 90) and National Oil and Hazardous Substances Pollution Contingency Plan (NCP). This sub-area was established for protection of the White River and its tributaries including Fall Creek Eagle Creek, and Cicero Creek.

EPA set up this website for document sharing for the sub-area committee.
